My wife and I watched an incredible movie called Amazing Grace last night.  This movie is based on the life story of William Wilberforce, a British politician and philanthropist who was the driving force for the abolition of slavery in the British Empire.  From a cinematic view it was a bit slow and hard to follow at points. However, I found myself incredibly challenged, motivated and inspired by the story.  This was a guy who became totally sold out to doing the right thing no matter what the cost.  Wow… That's incredible!

What about you?  What about me?  Are we motivated to find our calling in life?  To be what we were meant to be?  You will never impact the world and make a difference by sitting in front of the TV day in and day out watching others live out their dreams.  NEVER.  You and I need to get up off of our butts and go do it.  I realize that's a scary proposition.  Many times the fear is driven by finances, lack of perceived ability, and fear of failing.  It may require changing us and God knows that changing yourself is a most difficult task.  In fact, changing you is the hardest thing you will ever do.  And yet, if doing so allows you to move forward to your calling then won't the pain and effort be worth it?  Won't the fire of passion ignite as you move from mediocrity to a life full of meaning?

What will your legacy be?  Will it be one of mediocrity and complacency?  Will you know every name of those voted off the island or will you get busy living your dreams?  Get up!  Do it now!  Quit sitting on the sidelines.  Yes, you will get run over, tackled and bruised.  Yes, sometimes you will want to throw in the towel.  I ask again, Do you want to expire on your death bed wishing you had played? Or, do you want the fulfillment, and passion that choosing what you were meant to be and do will bring, no matter what?  To be honest… I struggle with this as much as you.  It's not easy to change a pattern of mediocrity but I refuse to allow myself to wallow in some sort of "woe is me" mentality for very long.  Life it much too short.

Let's get about the business of doing this thing called life and make a difference. Together.
