I’m really frustrated, because I had this post completely typed.  Then I hit save and lost the last third of it because the internet connection dropped.  Here’s my second try.

A big hearty thank you to those who serve or have served in our military.  Without you America would not be as good nor as great as she could be.  So thank you!

Today, I didn’t accomplish what I wanted to.  Well, not all of it anyway.  I believe I didn’t accomplish those things for these reasons.

  1. Didn’t have a list.
  2. Wasn’t motivated to make the list.
  3. Enjoyed relaxing and learning about solar science and other scientific things.

Hmmm… Guess if I don’t want that to be the story of my life I will need to get on the ball.  I did accomplish a couple of things even though I seemed bent on procrastination.

  1. Ran about 2 miles and walked another mile or so.
  2. Sent of two emails about a business idea I’m working on.
  3. Spent a couple of hours with our new neighbors at their party, meeting their family and friends.  Seem like a great family and I look forward to hanging out with them in the future.
  4. Studied some material on new software development technologies and development methodologies… I know real sleeping material. Not certain what my retention rate is…

So, as I look over the list I realize that while I accomplished some things, I also didn’t spend as much time on the things that I want to be the main things.  Items 2 & 3 fall closest in line with my core goals.  The rest are good things and fall in line with things that are more at the edges of what I’m trying to accomplish.

The take away in all this is that I need to re-visit my goals and evaluate how I spend my time in light of the goals.  No sense in putting as much time into things that are not as important.  How about you?  Are you like me an find yourself doing lots of good things but not the main things?  Take some time to evaluate what your goals are and then adjust the way you use your time.  You will be glad you did!
